Meet Snoh Aalegra and new song “Fool For You.”
Swedish up-and-comer, Snoh Aalegra has released a new track, “Fool For You” today (Sep. 18). Although it seems like the singer has yet to make her “big debut” onto the music scene, she’s had some noteworthy collabs and features this past year. She also has an impressive discography that has gone completely under the radar.
The Collabs and Samples
Earlier this year, Snoh’s track “Time” was sampled in Drake’s “Do Not Disturb,” off the highly anticipated, More Life mixtape. “Do Not Disturb” was also reworked for Kodak Black’s “Time Never Mattered.” Some other notable collabs for Snoh have come with Vince Staples in “Nothing Burns Like The Cold” and John Mayer in 2016’s “Under The Influence.”
I first became acquainted with Snoh after watching an Apple commercial that featured song, “In Your River.” Big thumbs up to Shazam for the help on that one! I was also able to catch the ending of her set at last year’s terribly executed Soulquarius event.
“Fool For You”
The track, the third single off her upcoming project, Feels discusses themes of déjà vu and foreshadowing of a “foolish” type of love. Lyrics like “Maybe it was me who brought you here /
I should run the other way, but I stay right here” and “…I can’t put my finger on it /
But it feels, oh like I’ve been here before” make it clear that she knows what she’s getting into, but she can’t help but become a fool for love. – I hear ya, sister.
Snoh will be opening for Daniel Caesar on his Freudian tour and you bet your sweet ass, I’ll be there!
