Justin Bieber wants to be friends with you (and his ex).
In this new upbeat, dancey collab with BloodPop, we find Justin Bieber wanting to maintain a friendship with an ex. (Surprising, I know). “Friends”, that dropped today (August 17th), puts Justin back on the map after the epic Purpose era.
I’m Wondering, Can We Still Be Friends?
Although the track sounds perky, the lyrics leave us longing for a friendship with the one that got away. “No, we didn’t end this so good/But you know we had something so good.”
“Friends” feels like a followup to “Sorry” (also produced by BloodPop) and will have you dancing and texting your ex soon enough.
Although this is our first full Bieber track since Purpose, Justin has had a string of noteworthy collabs. “Cold Water” with Major Lazer and MØ, “Let Me Love You” with DJ Snake, “I’m the One” with DJ Khaled, Chance the Rapper, Quavo and Lil Wayne, and most notably, “Despacito (Remix)” with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
