Jay-Z and Beyoncé will be hitting the stage again.
The music industry’s most royal couple, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, are throwing a benefit concert to help victims of both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The benefit concert is to be held Tuesday, October 17 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NYC. Several other Roc Nation artists are also said to be performing. If reports are true, this will be Beyoncé’s first time on stage since giving birth to twins, Rumi and Sir.
Besides this event, Bey has been very active in lending aid to victims of the catastrophic events. She recently took a trip to her hometown of Houston with her BeyGOOD foundation. She was joined with mother Tina Knowles, daughter Blue Ivy, and former Destiny’s Child bandmate Michelle Williams.
Beyoncé also had a part in this month’s Hand In Hand telethon that aired on Sept. 12. In a pre-recorded message that was aired she pleaded,
“During a time where it’s impossible to watch the news without seeing violence or racism in this country, just when you think it couldn’t possibly get worse, natural disasters take precious life, do massive damage and forever change lives…come together in a collective effort to raise our voices, to help our communities, to lift our spirits and heal.”
Although there hasn’t been an “official” announcement to the benefit concert, we’re already looking forward to a great night of performances for a good cause. If you still wish to donate to Hurricane Irma and Harvey relief funds, visit the BeyGOOD website and find out more.
