Hand In Hand for Hurricane Harvey and Irma
Last night (Sep 12), Americans turned on their TVs and opened up their wallets to donate to Hurricane Harvey and Irma victims. Hand in Hand: A Benefit Relief telethon has raised more than $44 million and had the help from countless celebrities.
The prime time event lasted one hour and was organized by manager Scooter Braun and H-Town rapper, Bun B. Hand in Hand aired on all four major networks as well as a handful of other cable networks. Some of our favorite celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Oprah Winfrey, and more also made appearances.
During the event, Houston Rockets Point Guard, Chris Paul (yup, still weird), announced that in addition to his $20,000 donation, the NBA Players Association would be donating $500,00. The NBA will also be matching any player’s donation up to $20,000. Pleas from Texas natives and our fave, Beyoncé as well as Cher, Diddy, and Drake were also aired.
